Zealanders Barry and Jane Fleury have been racing sidecars in
the UK and Europe since 1988. They won the BMCRC Championship

Successful
projects have included the TFR4 2-stroke engine, computer controlled
engine management system and power-assisted hydraulic braking
system. This ability to develop and improve the race machinery
'in-house' gives Team Fleury an invaluable edge in a highly
competitive environment where performance and success on the
track is directly related to the hours invested on the drawing-board
and in the workshop. |

The
team finished 12th in the World Championship with their most
promising result being a 3rd position in the 1998 World Championship
round in the Czech Republic An intensive engine development
programme has been embarked on over the 1999/2000 winter to
address all issues of reliability and machine weight. With these
areas improved Team Fleury look certain to be a contender for
a high placement in the 2000 World Championship. The 2000 Sidecar
World Championship will be part of the World Superbike series
competing at 12 events all over the world. |
